The training continues

Hey everyone! As you can see the beard is getting thick!

A quick update...We have been getting in some great workouts at the Y.M.C.A. The training bikes actually have a "cross country" mode and boy can we feel it after the ride! It's an awesome training tool though.

The weather is supposed to be pretty nice over the next few weeks so we hope to get out on our bikes for training.

The past month or so Nick has been playing basketball for his school team. The practices and games have been really helpful with getting Nick in shape. Track starts in another month or so but he hasn't decided if he wants to do that again this year. His basketball ends next week so we will be able to get on a regular training schedule once that is finished. One side note: Yesterday Nick had a game in Idaho City...the kids, coach and some parents took a bus ride to the school in the Idaho Mountains. I had a chance to have a nice talk with the coach of Nick's team and some other parents about our ride. The support and encouragement was awesome! Everyone at his school has been incredible and continue to to motivate us for our journey ahead...Thanks Rolling Hills!

One of our training rides is going to be the road to Bogus Basin once the snow melts and the temperatures rise. The ride is about 16 miles from Boise to the top of the mountain where the Bogus Basin ski resort is. The two-lane road turns 172 times and gains 3400 feet (1036 m) in elevation so it should prove to be a great training ground.

That's about all for now.

"Keep Pedaling"
